Financial Assistance
MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS)
At Guangyang Secondary School, we strive to ensure students’ potential to think, lead and advocate is nurtured without financial barriers. Singaporean students who need financial assistance may apply for MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) through the school.
Benefits Under MOE FAS
• 100% subsidy of school and miscellaneous fees
• Free textbooks and school attire
• School meal subsidy for 10 meals per school week
• Public transport subsidy of $17 per month
Income Criteria
• The family's gross household income (GHI) does not exceed $4,000 per month; or per capita income (PCI) does not exceed $1000 per month.
How to Apply
Parents can submit their applications through online e-FAS application portal (SingPass required).
Should students do not quality for MOE FAS, they will automatically be considered for School-based FAS.

The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF)
The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF) is a community project initiated by The Straits Times to provide pocket money to children from low-income families to help them through school. Secondary school student will receive $100 /month. This can be used for school-related expenses, such as buying a meal during recess, paying for transport or using it to meet other schooling needs.
Eligible Criteria:

Student must be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident

Family gross per capita income of $1,000 per month or less

Student must not be concurrently receiving school pocket money fund from another disbursing agency

Student has not received the maximum 24 months of STSPMF assistance during their entire primary to secondary schooling years. For possible extension, please approach a social service agency near your residence: https://www.spmf.org.sg/howtoapply

Applications are now open for newly enrolled Secondary 1 students until 13 February 2026.
