National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC)
National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC)
Guangyang Secondary School NPCC develops active citizens and community leaders who contribute to Singapore's safety and security. Our unit's excellence is reflected in our consistent achievement of the Unit Overall Proficiency Award (UOPA) Distinction from 2022 to 2024. Through our partnership with Bishan Neighbourhood Police Centre, cadets gain authentic exposure to community policing and crime prevention, fostering a deep sense of civic responsibility.
Our program's strength lies in its holistic development approach, guided by our RISE values - Resilience, Integrity, Service, and Excellence. Cadets develop leadership capabilities and social-emotional competencies while gaining practical knowledge in police work and community safety. Under the mentorship of Teacher Officers, Honorary Officers, and Cadet Inspectors, our training methodology combines physical training with character development, preparing cadets to be future-ready leaders who can contribute meaningfully to Singapore's safety and security.
Key Programmes
Police Youth Ambassador (PYA)
As Police Youth Ambassadors, our Secondary 3 Cadet Leaders research SGSecure initiatives and design their own community outreach strategies. Working with Bishan Neighbourhood Police Centre, they conduct public engagement activities on terrorism awareness and emergency preparedness, embodying our RISE values while developing leadership and communication skills.
Adventure Training Camp
Camp Resilience on Pulau Ubin offers our Secondary 2 cadets a transformative three-day outdoor adventure led by alumni Cadet Inspectors and Honorary Officers. Alongside cadets from six other schools, participants tackle challenges like land expeditions, survival skills training, and outdoor living. This immersive experience builds physical resilience, fosters inter-school friendships, and exemplifies our RISE values through peer support and mentorship.
Student Voices
"Trust the process, enjoy the journey." These words perfectly capture my 11-year experience with NPCC at Guangyang Secondary School. What began as a path filled with uncertainty gradually unfolded into a journey of growth, discipline, and resilience. Through every challenge and leadership role, I learned to trust that each step, no matter how tough, was part of a bigger picture. It wasn’t just about achieving ranks or awards, but about developing values, building meaningful relationships, and pushing beyond my limits. Looking back, I realize that the true transformation wasn’t just in the skills I gained, but in how the process itself shaped who I am today, teaching me to value the journey just as much as the destination.

NPCC has given me challenges that pushed me to grow, teaching me to think on my feet, to lead with confidence, and lead in a way that stays true to me.
