Learning for Life Programme
Our school's Learn for Life Programme (LLP) is "Guangyang Advocates". We aim to nurture students who actively lead positive change in the school and wider community by building Emerging 21st Century Competencies (E21CC), particularly collaboration, communication skills, and civic literacy, alongside values of empathy and service. "Guangyang Advocates" develops students holistically through a two-tiered spiral approach where students discover strengths through authentic leadership experiences and engaging in Service Learning projects that develop their sense of purpose and agency. These experiences directly support our desired student outcomes of nurturing Leaders who build connections and lead with empathy, and Advocates who demonstrate strong civic consciousness and actively improve the lives of others.
Key Programmes
Leadership Workshops
Students develop leadership competencies and civic literacy through Lower and Upper Secondary Leadership Workshops that spiral progressively from Personal Leadership and Action for Community Improvement to Team Leadership and Awareness and Advocacy for Community Improvement. Values pertinent to service-learning and community leadership, particularly empathy and service, are emphasised in both lower and upper secondary workshops.
Service Learning Day
Leadership competencies and civic literacy are also developed through the Annual Service Learning Day for the whole school, with level-specific activities that increase in complexity and impact. It serves as a platform for students to practise competencies and skills learned at the Leadership Workshops, as well as demonstrate values and serve the community.
